Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Responsive Design Studios, a division of Responsive Design LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information in our games and applications, including Emberdash and our other titles (collectively, the “Games”).

The short version: We don’t run our own servers, accounts, or trackers — your game progress stays on your device, and we never sell your data. The Android version of Emberdash offers optional rewarded ads (via Google AdMob) and an optional one-time supporter purchase (via Google Play). Those Google services collect limited data as described below. Our web and itch.io versions show no ads.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, location, or contacts through the Games, and we do not require an account to play. The one exception is the third-party Google services in the Android version of Emberdash — Google AdMob (ads) and Google Play (purchases) — which collect limited data as described under “Advertising” and “Purchases” below. We do not receive or store that data ourselves.

Data stored on your device

To make the Games work, we save data locally on your device — for example your high scores, progress, unlocked items, and audio/volume settings (using browser local storage or local app storage). This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time by clearing the app/browser data or uninstalling the Game.

Advertising (Android)

The Android version of Emberdash includes optional rewarded video ads served by Google AdMob. You choose whether to watch an ad in exchange for an in-game reward — ads are never forced on you. To serve and measure ads, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect your device’s advertising ID and limited device and usage information, as described in Google’s policies. We do not receive or store this information ourselves. Our web and itch.io versions do not show ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Personalized ads & your consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

Google AdMob and its advertising partners may use your advertising ID and related data to show personalized ads and measure their performance. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any such data is used — through a consent prompt shown in the app the first time ads are offered. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from the app’s privacy settings, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s Android settings. Consent is gathered using a Google-certified consent management platform (Google UMP). If you decline, you may see non-personalized ads instead.

Purchases (Android)

Emberdash offers an optional one-time “Supporter” in-app purchase through Google Play Billing. All payments are processed by Google Play — we never see or store your payment card or billing details. Google may retain purchase history to deliver and manage the purchase. If you don’t buy anything, no purchase data is collected.

Other third-party platforms

If you play a Game through a platform such as itch.io, a web browser, or the Google Play Store, that platform’s own privacy policy also governs any data it collects.

Children’s privacy

Our Games are intended for general audiences and are not directed at children under 13. Ads in the Android version are configured for a general (non-child-directed) audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Permissions

Our Android app requests only the minimal permissions needed to run the game and show optional ads (network access, and the advertising ID for advertising). It does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or files for data collection.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
